You should write the time of photos under these photos such as 2000s Paris and 1990s Istanbul. In addition to this, every metropolitan city has own ghetto like Paris and Istanbul. You should show also the situation in the northern Paris. And, do not forget to put photos of riots in northern Paris (2007 civil unrest in Villiers-le-Bel).
To IBG: Istanbul photo is made on July 22, 2006, and I did take from the Galata Tower. I do not think this area is a ghetto, as you say. Paris photo I made from the Arch of Triumph, on July 15, 2007. If it were in the riots of Paris would surely have also photographed and published. Where then did these photos, I just wanted to capture different parts of the city, poor corners, nooks elegant, beautiful places and not so beautiful. Nothing more. When I recently published this post with two photos my intention was not to compare negatively Istanbul to Paris, my intention was always the opposite. Just wanted to express the strong contrast, as a form of positive reflection on social inequality.

Great shots. I enjoy this kind of views. More than looking for an explanation I like to observe the aesthetic of the image. But thanks for the info. It is always good to know the location.
